Beginning Monday August 25th, 2008 water and sports-drink-carrying athletes at Bailey Road, Torrence Chapel, Smithville, and Legion Parks can pitch their plastic bottles, aluminum cans and even newspapers into specially marked recycling containers in these four Cornelius parks. Blue recycling receptacles marked with the recycling logo have been placed adjacent to trash receptacles throughout the parks to encourage visitors to “pitch in”.
