The Creative Art Exchange, The Children's Arts Project and the Town of Cornelius through its Department of Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture present Art in Hand at the Cornelius Arts Center. The brainchild of Charlotte artist, Dione Goyette, the Art In Hand deck of cards exhibit is the result of a charter project conducted in Charlotte, NC where 55 artists (52 cards and 3 jokers) took one card in a traditional deck of cards and designed it in their own unique style. The cards were then published and are now being sold in galleries and high end retailers throughout the Carolinas. The project is designed to help local artists reach a greater audience in a fun and unique way. It also has a non-profit function which sees the proceeds from the sale of the original 'card art' going to non-profit arts initiatives.
