Boo Bash 2009 - A Halloween Treat for Families was offered by the Town of Cornelius Department of Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture (PARC) on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 6:00 – 9:00pm at Bailey Road Recreation Center (Bailey Middle School - 11900 Bailey Road, Cornelius NC). The evening was packed with great FREE activities from 6:00 - 9:00pm with Arts & Crafts by The Community Arts Project, Haunted Trail by LKN Teen Council ($1 per person); 6:30pm a Costume Contest for the following age groups: Preschool, K-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, 6th-8th grade and 9th grade-Adult . At 7:45pm a special showing of the hit movie Monsters vs. Aliens was offered in the gym on the PARC inflatable Blimp Screen. A special "Monster Mash Family Dance" was offered to end the evenings festivities. Refreshments were provided. Special acknowledgements to Principal Dean at Bailey Road Middle School for enabling the School to be utilized for this special treat after-hours. Many thanks to Boy Scout Troop #82 for donating pumpkins from their Pumpkin Patch at Kenton Place. Additionally, the Towns of Davidson and Huntersville coordinated the LKN Teen Council's Haunted Trail with PARC staff which proved to be a popular addition to this year's event!
